We believe that Alcatel Systems, which manufactures DSL access concentrators for the Regional Bell telephone companies, is preparing to buy ADSL chips from suppliers other than Alcatel’s captive chip unit, which has struggled both on quality and quantity issues. Top contenders for the business are, in our judgment, Texas Instruments and ADI. Even a partial victory at Alcatel by ADI would substantially boost Aware’s market share, which we now place at 40% to 45%." IMO TXN isn't in the running and ADI could be already shipping to ALA...remember Newbridge uses ALA. All IMO of course.
