Dear Charles: there is a rumour that has circulated for years that if you file late in the season you may escape audit!! The IRS has never, for obvious reasons, indicated how they pick whom to audit, but ALAS all you RICH FOLKS on this thread can rest assured your returns are at least scanned by a HUMAN. (ie ones over a certain size get a human look see). As to the rest of us country bumpkins a machine scans it to compare deductions taken to established standards at the appropriate income level reported. I am told the IRS was very happy that Lynn made hers so "nice and neat" to enable them to scan it easier!! (gg) JDN

PS: Since making this post, I have read Charles post wherein he indicates he is the most audited on the thread. That being the case then I suppose Charles is the Richest!! Brother can you spare a dime?? (gg)
