Anybody here? Some news... MEDTRONIC INC., and Biotronik GmbH & Co., Berlin, Germany, announced Friday that they had settled all patent and trademark litigation between them pending in German courts. The companies agreed on a one-year stay of all litigation in U.S. courts as negotiations continue toward settlement. Medtronic and Biotronik agreed to a cross-license on their respective patent portfolios related to pacemakers and defibrillators for treatment of abnormal heart rhythms. The license is worldwide with exception of the United States where the parties continue their negotiations in order to reach an agreement. (PR Newswire 09:02 AM ET 05/16/97) GM
