Anyone......Several of the most recent posts touch on the issue of holding Winspear stock beyond the expiration date of the DeBeers offer and the especial considerations for American shareholders (like myself). Can anyone summarize a case history or two for actual companies re what can happen to minority shares left in a company after a buyout offer has expired? In our case, would Winspear stock even continue to trade (recognizing of course that liquidity will be hurt)? Could the remaining untendered stock be left to languish by DeBeers, e.g. by shutting down ALL shareholder contacts (not just to Americans) or by letting reporting requirements lapse to the point that the shares are delisted but DeBeers still has the Snap Lake property? I realize I'm specifically referring to Winspear in the above questions, but I'm sure many on the thread would appreciate actual examples of what has happened to the minority shareholders of other corporations.
