High-Tech Veteran Ernest Labbe to Head Network Engines' Customer Service Operation
Labbe draws on 28 years service and management experience to enhance customer relations and support appliance server products
RANDOLPH, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 16, 2000-- Network Engines today announced that Ernest Labbe has joined the company as vice president of customer service. Labbe will strengthen Network Engines' customer relations and service strategies as the company expands market reach for its appliance server technology. Labbe will direct in-house tech support and field support operations, including repair and replacement tasks, ensuring Network Engines' appliances continue to deliver vital Web content to its customers' end users.
Labbe brings more than 28 years of customer service and management experience to Network Engines. Previously, he was vice president of operations at Digital Generation Systems, Inc., a California-based multi-media network provider for the broadcast market. He was responsible for client and station service operations, managing technical support and digital delivery of broadcast television and radio commercials to more than 7,000 stations.
Prior to Digital Generation Systems, Labbe rose up through the ranks at Lucent Technologies' Business Communication Systems division, where he ultimately served as general manager of northeast operations. In this role, he managed order operations, installation and maintenance for large and small business telephone and data communications systems in five New England states. While at Lucent, he also developed the Business Communication Systems' data networking service marketing strategy and associated business model.
``Many of our customers' server appliance architecture is their business. They cannot have any downtime, because they'll lose money. Ernest's extensive customer service history will enable him to identify and address customer service needs,'' said Lawrence Genovesi, Network Engines' president and CEO. ``He will help us build upon our customer relationships and establish a reputation for supporting our appliance servers and the Web content they deliver.''
Labbe further honed his skills with customer service and management positions at Proteon, Inc., CrossComm Corporation, Motorola Corporation and LFE Corporation. He earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Rhode Island.
