Yaacov: .10/share each way can get expensive also. If you are working with 200 shares that is $20, same as etrade. Brown & co. charges $5 on market orders, and $10 on limit orders.
If you write LEAPS against stock, you can keep the stock forever, reduce the risk, and postpone capital gains on stock, until you are ready to sell because of cash needs oe pass on the stock to your family.
There are many ways to skin the cat.
