Milo, <PB promised better binsplits and volumes of Piii's by end of March.>

Yeah, I remember that. He also promised a chicken in every pot and a better future for America's children, did he not?

Come on, Milo, he's just an employee, like me. Obviously there were many factors that were beyond his control, such as unexpectedly high demand.

<So I don't think anyone was "way off in their assumptions of INTC's yields/binsplits">

Here are some of the assumptions the AMDroids made:

- Intel was supposed to ramp up a process from 0 to 100% instantly, instead of over the course of many months

- Intel only manufacturers Coppermine processors and nothing else

- All of Intel's 0.18u fabs were 100% dedicated toward Coppermine production

- Yields/binsplits were directly proportional to availability at CCBBFC (Circuit City/Best Buy/Fry's/Costco)

Sound familiar? None of the AMDroids had a clear picture of the situation, so they assumed the worst. (That's why I wondered out loud whether Elmer was also assuming the worst regarding AMD's production, since his statements reminded me of those made by the AMDroids earlier this year.)

But hey, truth is relative in a post-modern world, is it not?
