For those who missed lunch today:
Norwood, Massachusetts, Aug. 16 (Bloomberg) -- The following are comments by Jerald Fishman, chief executive of Analog Devices Inc., who spoke on financial news network CNBC about the chipmaker's products and the company's outlook in the communications market.
``We have seen no slowdown at all. In fact, throughout the last quarter, our business continued to accelerate. This is why we were able to do better thanwe had anticipated three months ago. Our business remains very strong. We have a large backlog of orders and we have the capacity lined up to ship those orders. In the near-future, business looks good.''
``Our strength is in the communications market, where sales were up well over 100 percent year-to-year, and about 23 percent quarter-over-quarter, sequentially. Broadband, wireless communications, high-end consumer products and our industrial products business have been accelerating throughout the year.
``Last quarter, wireless handsets were about 5 percent of our total sales. I would say over the next year, this business also will improve.''
