If people realized how much of their
money goes to taxes at all levels, Fed income, SS, medicare, unemployment, State, County, City, sales, excise, those who
claim the Europeans pay more taxes than us are full of beans.
I believe that even with those things added, most countries in Western Europe tax more heavily then the US does. However this is in my opinion rather irrelevant. The fact that things might be worse some where else doesn't mean we should accept what is bad here. If ou jump out of a tenth floor window, that does not make me smart because I jump out of the 5th floor.
