Thats all very true...if prices are going higher. I'm pretty good at nailing short term tops and my experience is still that if prices are NOT going higher that ECNs languish. Nobody is going to want to execute for their customer at the top--so guess what--retail ECNs languish at the top. I know if I want a fast fill I better hit an ECN as well. Comnmon knowledge. ECNs don't demand the 17 seconds that MMs demand to see what hole the ball falls in first BEFORE executing an order. If I had 17 seconds to decide to fill or not and determine if prices were going higher or not I'd be a rich man in short order. I'm fully aware of the "tools". I've found though that recently most market makers are filling orders much much much faster with some exceptions like HRZG. I call them the PIG because of it. They're back a way cheats. Nobody else trades like those jerks. And not only that I stated up front that I have no evidence on collusive activity that it could very way be a function of payment for order flow. I don't know one way or the other. Just looks suspicious. Moo Goo Gai Pan.
