Re: After listening to the audio, I felt that the recent Flash scare was over done. It was a well orchestrated scam by some of these analysts. By listening to the Audio, most can realize that the concerns expressed by some of these Analysts were based on incomplete knowledge of Flash technology - especially AMD's Flash products. I wonder why these analysts don't try to educate themselves on what the flash technology is, and take into account what the Flash manufacturers are saying about Flash.

Goutama,

A good way to look at flash is comparing it to SDRAM in desktop computers. Today the standard is 128 MB. Next year or so, the standard will move up to 256 MB. In other words, ****BIT**** production will have to double to keep up with demand, even if ****SALES**** remain flat.

I think many ANALysts were trying to say that cell phone sales, etc. would have to double next year, the following year, and again the following year to keep up with demand. In reality, cell phones are turning into flash hogs. Sales only have to move up at a modest pace to consume double or triple today's flash output.

A computer purchased today with 128 MB of SDRAM consumes ****EIGHT**** times the amount of SDRAM than a computer purchased 5 years ago with 16 MB. The same can be said for flash memory devices.

This is a simple example, but I think it demonstates what is going on in the flash market. It would be ridiculous to assume that ****DEVICES**** that use flash would go up 100% this year, 100% the next, 100% the next and so on. It's not at all unrealistic to assume that flash sales will go up at this pace as devices consume more of it.
