That's why we don't have a democracy. I use the term demockery - it is more descriptive. I love it when politicians who win by 40% claim a mandate. Let's do the math. 1/3 of the people who could vote, do so, in a good showing 1/2 of all people can vote, excluding criminals, resident aliens, illegal aliens, children and the institutionalized So, 0.333 * 0.5 * 0.4 = 0.06% of the total population. Now that's a mandate worth crowing about!
