Thanks for the clarification, Kathy; sorry I missed that point. (These cold drugs are bad for the brain!)

I looked at the Chinese issue back when I worked for AMAT, out of curiosity. AMAT sells quite a bit over there, and looks to expand dramatically. It wouldn't surprise me if Intel or others DO put up fabs there in a while, jointly with the government. But I did notice that on a per-employee basis, productivity was (by design) low compared to elsewhere. Still, I seem to remember that this type of job (whether in a fab or assembly facility) are some of the most progressive, and best paying, in all of China.

It's not the way WE run things, but it seems to work for them.

In any case, that's still a lot of flash RAM, and it's gotta get fabricated somewhere; on AMAT tools too, I bet.... <G>
