As one who runs a chatroom I dont really think the real danger of any chatroom is really the calls. Rather, I think the real danger is that people will start to rely on the, not do their own work and thus never truely be traders. I would think that 9 months to 1 year is plenty of time and a person should be able to be doing his or her own thing by that time. I know a lot of people stick around after that point for social reasons (lonely to look at the flashing numbers all day and listen to the CNBC crew), but others are hanging around for calls much too long. I have a number of people who I suspect could be very good traders, but they always want permission from Toni or myself for anything they do. That would be to my thinking the primary danger of a chatroom.
