Dell Chosen as Primary Provider of PCs for HCA -- the
Healthcare Company

ROUND ROCK, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 17, 2000--Dell (Nasdaq:DELL) announced today that it will be the primary supplier for personal computers and peripherals and a dual source provider for notebook computers and servers for the U.S. health care facilities of HCA -- The Healthcare Company, the nation's leading health care provider.
Headquartered in Nashville, Tenn., HCA said it chose Dell for its market leadership and the single point of accountability.
"Dell was selected based on being the leader of the direct e-commerce customer service model, its product, technology and value offering and its responsiveness to our needs as expressed within the request for proposal," said Noel Williams, senior vice president and chief information officer at HCA.
Dell(tm) PowerEdge(tm) servers, OptiPlex(tm) desktop PCs and Latitude(tm) notebook PCs will be deployed throughout HCA's operations and regional service and data centers in roles ranging from administrative uses to supporting HCA's e-business initiatives.
