true but its less wrong than taxing income, since nobody wants to work for a salary that has high net worth. People just won't do it, they try all kinds of creative ways of accepting payment for services... stock or whatever. Thats really clear in tech hiring, the only people that care about salary are people in their 20s. Everybody else wants nothing to do with a salary (for obvious reasons) - I know one guy accepted a job somewhere for a tiny salary and an opportunity to invest in a VC fund (which is a partnership), he could only cut that deal because he is already wealthy - the 25-year olds working for him are stuck paying taxes because they don't have 3 million in the bank.

So there isn't any easy way to do this but taxing earned income is so clearly offbase that anything would be superior, imo.
