Work Program To Commence Shortly
Avalon Ventures Ltd. ("Avalon") and Starcore Resources Ltd. ("Starcore") (collectively the "Companies") are pleased to announce assay results from Holes L00-3 and 4 of
a 4-hole, 447 metre diamond drilling program completed in July on the Legris Lake palladium-platinum project located 80 km north of Thunder Bay, Ontario. Holes L00-4
intersected a second zone of palladium+platinum+gold ("PGE") plus copper-nickel mineralization related to a parallel I.P. (chargeability) anomaly situated approximately
300 metres southeast of the Main Zone intersected in holes L00-1 and 2. The best intersection in the Main Zone averaged 1.62 g/t PGE, 0.32% copper and 0.09% nickel
over 10.7 metres, including 2.66 g/t PGE, 0.47% copper and 0.14% nickel over 3.1 metres and 3.75 g/t PGE, 0.75% copper and 0.27% nickel across 0.45 m.
A 4.7 metre interval at the top of hole L00-4, from 3.70 to 8.40 m, consisting of 2-7% pyrite-pyrrhotite-chalcopyrite mineralization in vari-textured gabbros averaged 0.87 g/t
PGE, 0.27% copper and 0.066% nickel over 4.7 metres, including 1.15 g/t PGE, 0.41% copper and 0.10% nickel over 1.5 metres. The hole was collared in mineralization
and consequently, the full width of this new zone has yet to be determined. Hole L00-3 tested a third I.P. anomaly located between the two zones but no significant PGE

The Companies are presently planning a follow-up work program which will consist of additional geological mapping and at least 1250 metres of diamond drilling. The new
drilling program will begin to delineate the vertical and lateral extent of the two new PGE mineralized zones discovered at Legris Lake which are wide open in all directions.
