OT Reminds me of the Gil Scott Heron song "B-movie" "Ain't really your life ain't nothing but a movie!" He talked about the 1980 election where 26% of the Registered voters voted for Ronald ray-gun (as he called him), and they call that a mandate....not 26% of the populace he said, but 26% of the registered voters. (The point I'm making here is not that it was Reagan, but just the fact that only 26% of registered determined the winner) "Effective democracy requires active participation and effort on everyone's part" - nicely said... "disengenuous to blame it all on politicians" At least they make an effort..right? Perhaps some of them are not so great and are not so interested in the populace as they are their egos...but perhaps some are in fact caring and try like heck to make a difference...but they are at least making an effort and that counts for a lot in my book. Easy to bash, harder to become part of the solution in a way that will make a difference. Probably should have sent this by PM, but what the heck...best
