Yes, I do think there is a difference between flipping the bird and cursing someone out. My husband and I flip each other the bird all the time when we are fighting and joking at the same time. But using the actual curse words is reserved for fights when we are not joking.<g>

My husband has a lot of funny ways to flip the bird, e.g. he pretends to be jacking up his finger.
