Dutch: Some of V's remarks, besides...

...being glaringly sexist, imply that if one's (meaning, the husband's) own decisions regarding the family pool of investments have proven to be stupid, it is somehow the fault of the wife. Or significant other. Or ex-wives. Or children, etc, etc, etc.

Such ridiculous sweeping statements about women having 'all control' of investing decisions indirectly thru their 'foolish emotions' (and I believe Voltaire goes so far as to postulate that 'all women' are capable of 'withholding sex' in such situations ... LOL) are made by the likes of Voltaire (how many ex-wives have taken you to the cleaners to date, Tom? Three?) to 'pass the buck,' so to speak.

When your portfolios fall apart, and the 'man in the family' is the one managing them, well, DOH ... who should get the blame?

Re your attorney friend/Boston Chicken: he is not 'forced' to do anything, obviously. The day he tires of funding the wife who 'controls' not his decisions, but his mentality, he'll leave her. 'Til then, HE is the one to blame for 'his misery.'

hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
