It's certainly not automatic. It depends on a bunch of things which are mainly spelled out in DeBeers 38 page offer to purchase, which you can access on Sedar.com by searching the Winspear documents.

Your problem arises because of the precarious situation between DeBeers, as "persona non grata' in the us, and the US government. US resident's were specifically and arbitrarily excluded from the offer, and therefor nothing that DeB does will relate to you. Your options appear to be limited to either hanging on, or selling on the market at the cost of a penny or two plus brokerage.At present prices anyway.So the answer to your question in this case anyway is "NO".

Personally I wouldn't want to be a tag along in a company controlled by DeB
