I recall that IRID, CFON, and many other situations that were obviously going to or close to zero, had at least one sharp reversal. IRID went from about 3 or 4 to about 14 or so and squeezed many shorts. Recently, LGTO has seemed (to me) to be on a similar path, but after crashing to the low 20's recovered to the mid 40's before resuming its trek.

Shorts have to use the mark-to-market gains to mirror the longs' potential, mathematically. Shorting at 47 to 3 and holding through a recovery to 14 is bad money management, which may be OK for you, but not for anyone who manages other people's funds.

BTW, CFD declared the dividend, FWIW.
