George,
The company had a news anouncement on the ties Aug 6. Didn't print it and can't find it on the web.
FROM MEMORY, the company had funding from some major railroads to develop the ties. A college grad student at Purdue? had a project to
get the patent. The plastic tie had about 4 times the life expectancy of wood. Don't remember the numbers.
Was talking to a brother in law who works for the rail road about this. The concrete tie are not resealant and crack. The creasote wood ties are an enviromental problem. Read an article a few months ago about the creasote in telephone polls contaminating ground water. Rail roads spend alot of money on replacing old ties.

Main problem I saw as an investment is if some rail roads gave them money to develop the process, why haven't they been buying?

Wish someone had a link, and could post the Aug 6 article. I like any companies that can turn waste into something usefull, and make a profit. I'm not, in but I think it is a good one to watch.

They do have alot more going for them then the ties. Just thought
those looked the most promising.
Bob
