I've used the setup you describe with a first generation iMac (233mhz, 96mgs) and Win95. It works ok.

A friend has a G3 300mhz with 128mgs same setup and it's fine. I'll bet a G4 or even the new 500mhz iMac (with an added larger, say 19in, monitor) would be very nice.

I'm currently using a P3, Win98SE and 128mgs which is very stable and works great. I use the iMac as a backup. I love the MacOS, but prefer certain features of the Wintel system such as the taskbar and memory management.

One of the keys to a stable Wintel system is to avoid third party software that may corrupt one's system. I only install software that others have tested for a long time with a config like mine!
