Scott, I was kind of interested in the threads opinion as to whether it would be good for AMD if the Itanic was a commercial success. Is AMD better off if Intel devotes its resources to Itanic, trying to make it a commercial success, and shorts the resources put into P4 or would we be better off if Intel needs to put the P4 into the server space and thus it may be likely Intel won't want to lower the P4 very far into the desktop.

I am beginning to think we might be better off with a good Itanium chip. Then both companies will prosper as Intel probably will have its hands to full to put a lot of energy into the desktop. Hammer will probably be in the space below Itanium anyways.
