It's impossible to hire Java programmers. I'm sorry to report, there's a contract Java programmer working for me just finishing his assignment. He is anxiously looking for a job but his emailed resumes get him nowhere. He is really talented, and reliable! Maybe you were exactly right six months ago but things change like lightning. The comparison between Sun and other machines will be even less favorable when Intel finally comes out with a 64 bit chip. Anyway, minicomputers(aka "servers") are a commodity and so is Java. I'm not shorting Sun but I sure don't see any reason to view it as a king.
