John re <<When we start seeing more (is there any?) $6.XX and $7.XX estimates for 2001, AMD can break through 100 (50 post split).>>

The high estimate for 2001 is $6.50. But the low is $2.12. Most analyst are predicting much higher 2001 earnings, but the problem is that couple of old estimates remains very low.

All is EPS estimates is just BS. For example, the low estimates for Q3 and Q4 are $1.03 and $1.19 respectively. Even with these two estimates the 2000 earnings would be $1.58. But the low for 2000 is $4.00. How can that be???? Even if you go by the lowest estimates for the next two quarters, the estimate for the year is $1.58 short.

Clearly some of these estimates are old and meaningless. Who ever is in charge of publishing them is not doing the job.

One way or the other, I think AMD will be much higher at the end of the year.
