Gerald, I think the politics are crazy, and your potics are crazies of all! So what is this balagan about Liebermann
being Jewish or not observing Tisha B'Av. Big deal. Orthodox Jews would like to celebrate a holiday for 365 days a year and that is their business. Mr. Liebermann is
a not a Orthodox Jew and doesn't observ that holiday, that is all. In the United States, were people pride theselves on
the seperation of the CHurch and the State, people should understand. The whole bloddy thing boils down to anti-semetism that is well and alive, even in the heart of Untied States.

I agree with most of what you say here and later, but I disagree in this regard.

He is supposedly an Orthodox Jew who supposedly does observe sabbath and other occassions closely (from the coverage he got when selected). It's a matter of hypocrisy since a big deal was earlier made out of why it was OK for him to have voted on Saturdays: people's welfare was at stake in those particular votes.

I personally don't give a damn what a person's religion is, but if it's being used as a political tool, as I believe it is in this case, hypocrisy needs to be pointed out. If the explanation would have been something along the lines of "do you go to church every Sunday?" then I'd say OK, but instead it was a piece of holier-than-thou bullshit which put it into play.
