Ameritech Modems by: capt_smartjack (41/M/Naperville, IL) 8/18/00 12:01 pm Msg: 20616 of 20732 Flyersrule_2001 stated:
"But if the Ameritech company says deployment is hot in the 5 states it services, and they use WSTL modems, at least this is reason to hold on to the stock. In the past Ameritech was using non-WSTL modems. So this is significant."
Yes this IS significant. Keep in mind that Ameritech is now part of SBC. We have known for some time now that Westell is supplying to SBC, and taking that business away from EFNT. It is things like this that keeps the Westell plant, and TWO outside manufacturing plants, pumping out Westell modems by the truck load. This VZ strike IS NOT hurting the quarter for Westell, but it is scaring the un-informed that think it will, and that does not help the stock price.
Well, I've closed out all my open option contracts for this month. Since there is nothing to be gained by worrying about these short-term price movements, I'm headed to the golf course...........
