Damn if you do and damn if you don't. MC has been trying to build credibility w/ Wallstreet. His message is that despite the shortage of the parts, we will make numbers. Now, think the otherway, if the parts problem is solved, Compaq could beat the numbers. Also, he mentioned that the whole industry is facing this challenge and CPQ has a good handle on it.

I hope and doubt that MC's comments will negatively impact the stock, however, I can see some nervous CPQ investors to take some profits.

Just remember, the e-fools are gone. With recent SEC rules, selective disclosures will lead to getting PR problems. This was another good step by MC. Give him some
credit....
