It does look like there's a problem there but I think the real question is: who gives a rat's ass!. Really it reminds me of this squabble I once had with some Clipper morons. They actually thought it was a) technology and b) important technology. They couldn't comprehend that it was the biggest POS ever slapped together by amateur DOS hacks and of no value whatsoever. I mean, a pile of junk with DOS "screen" commands and DOS file I/O commands all merged into some crap DBASE languages. It sold because any fool, most of them were, could "compile" their DBASE into an EXE and say "Look Ma! I wrotes a program!" The worst thing is it wasn't even easy-to-use. It was one HACK after another. They actually claimed with a straight face that that POS had an object-oriented feature.

Fast-forward to InterBase: use PostgreSQL or MySQL and if you need something more powerful get DB2 or if you don't mind having the slowest DB on the block Oracle. Hell, even Microsoft sells a DB don't they? SQL Scooter or something like that? Tell those clowns to get a life and move on. We DO NOT care about InterBase. Inprise should be able to use that technology to make $$$ keeping in at home: you do not need a large team to support a SQL engine and they can sell that with their Application Server.

Earth to InterBase dweebs: collect some cans and cash them in for personal DB2.
