I sample RB's AZNT thread from time to time, but I am a speed reader, not a speed retcher.
Not every thread here has a high level of social discourse, nor does that lack eliminate the enjoyment potential. But, at some point, the noise level becomes tedious.
If RB had the "ten at a time mode", my reading time would be decimated, and AZNT more tolerable.
There is another SI thread, dealing with "fraud of psychiatric prescriptions" and started by Tastes Like Chicken, that is an example of folks in various levels of disagreement, but without the rancor and unhappiness that characterizes so much of Raging Bull. I have been engaged in a debate with one of the participants, whose position seems unsupportable to me, but I believe that we both are enjoying the process and the exercise. No insults, open minds, and we all have an opportunity to learn.
Back to this sort of topic, though: I suppose that it's peculiar that AZNT's demise bothers me not at all, even though it costs me money. I haven't been as obvious over the past couple of years as some of the other fanatical die-hard longs, have I?
Incidentally, I had some enjoyable interaction, many months ago, with a Chuzzlewit on SI. Do you know this person?
