Can you find out if TEXN nominated their ProMag design for this Innovation Award at the ONS 2000 show???? If not, would you please forward this news story to Doug or Buren to see if it is a feasible idea??? If nothing else, it may provide some free press for the first day of the conference. The hunt is on to identify companies exhibiting innovative products or services at ONS 2000 which stake out the way ahead for oil and energy technology.
"Innovation involves coming up with the new products, processes and systems demanded by the market," says Erik Skaug, director for industry and energy at the Research Council of Norway.
"It represents the most important driving force in creating value for a company, and helps to lay the financial foundations on which all welfare and social development rest."
Mr Skaug chairs the international jury for the ONS 2000 Innovation Award, which is primarily intended to stimulate new technological developments in the oil, gas and energy sectors.
It also aims to strengthen the information value of the ONS exhibition for visitors, and the significance of this event as an international marketplace for innovative thinking.
"We're offering companies the chance to become the first ONS Innovation Award winner of the new millennium," says Mr Skaug, and adds that the jury has already received its first applications.
The ONS 2000 Innovation Award will be presented at the opening ceremony on Tuesday 22 August by Norwegian prime minister Kjell Magne Bondevik.
This presentation will be made in the presence of HM King Harald V of Norway and a number of leading personalities in the international energy sector.
A brochure on the ONS Innovation Guide, which forms part of the exhibition catalogue, and the Innovation Award is currently being distributed, and includes an application form.
