The truth is that the parts shortage is old news. That's why it seems strange that Capellas felt the need to make a public statement about it. If everyone knows, why say anything at all? Or is there something in the wind we should know about? That's what a lot of people will be thinking now. Compaq has been trying to build credibility, and I think they've been succeeding lately. We won't know until Monday morning, but nervous investors might send the stock down, and we could have another case of waiting for the quarterly report before the stock moves. I just don't see the need for this kind of confession especially when the long suffering shareholders are finally getting their heads above water. It reminds me of Jimmy Carter and his "I have lusted in my heart statement." Well, DUH !! We'll know for sure on Monday morning, but my feeling is that investors will take this as a red flag and throw the anchor out on the momentum we've been building for awhile. I sincerely hope I'm wrong as I still have a lot of Compaq stock, but I am worried about Monday.
