Berkshire Hathaway'A' (BRK.A): Reiterate 4 STARS

Analyst: David Braverman

Reports $421 vs. $376 Q2 EPS... More meaningful is $161 vs. $197 per share operating earnings... Reflects continued underwriting losses at General Re ($231 million this quarter), slower policy growth at GEICO... BRK says that premium growth at GEICO should improve as price hikes take effect, but policy growth may continue to slow..

We still see $900 earnings per share from operations for '00... See EPS over $1500 after realized gains... BRK up over 15% last 3 months, but see room for further gains... Also accumulate B shares <<<
