Thanks, Bull, for the link to KEG's story. A compelling story can be made for KEG when its own recovery is superimposed on higher prices for energy and electricity, increased reliance on imported energy sources, potential inflationary pressure of growing balance of trade deficits, potential domestic shortages of ngas and HO this winter and the heightened political debate over energy strategy during election season.

Republicans will attempt to pin higher energy costs on failed Democratic policies (or lack thereof), trying for a replay of 1980 when Reagan was able to blame Carter so convincingly for the high price of gasoline. Democrats won't be able to deny the obvious, but will try to blame high prices on collusion between OPEC and oil companies to control prices by limiting production.

Surprisingly, both parties will offer basically the same solution: increase domestic production dramatically and quickly. Producing more via new discoveries would be fine, except that this way would not be immediate and might even be precluded because many locations are now off-limits to o&g production. So, it appears that stimulating production from existing wells in the US is the only obvious way to increase domestic production both IMMEDIATELY and LEGALLY. KEG, the specialist in well workovers, appears now to be ideally positioned to respond quickly to what might even become perceived as an EMERGENCY situation as public and political pressures mount.
