<achieve self awareness> I certainly understand this is a major leap. I would certainly argue we are the most advanced in what we would consider important. But is this what is really important? Does this make us better suited to our environment (if that is the measuring stick). What is the true measuring stick? You mention dolphins, are they as well or better suited for the environment? They are not ruining their environment, we are. They can not push a button and destroy their environment,we can. They appear to be in almost perfect harmony with their environment, I'm not sure we are. Let's go back to the God idea (Solon's LAW) again and try to remove ourselves for a second. God is having a few people over for diner and he brings them into his den to show them his latest project. He points to the universe and says "I'm trying to set up a terrarium where everything functions in harmony with each other". He wants to show them the item he is the most proud of so far and when he reaches down into the terrarium to pick it up, what will it be?. Will it be us? I'm not sure. What I hear are arguments that we should be but those are based on what we think. What does he think? boots
