If you think about it, much of what we think of as beautiful are examples of brilliant uses of energy. Or lets say stimuli causing the desired reaction, another type of energy use. We are attracted to this beauty because it creates a necessary reaction. Men are attracted to women, reproduction. Bees are attracted to flowers, reproduction. You get the idea. If the basic rules of THE LAW are as you say " simply attempts to put to use the most energy in the most efficient way possible", then we would inherently lean toward items that appeared to be doing this well. That WOULD BE our definition of beauty. I think...Ha. boots
