Well, I've read explanations of the right hemisphere freaking out on one of the sensory categories therein. But even the explanations fall off into a pool eventually, because nobody is able to explain the explanations. Here is the point: These incredible jumps of prodigy exist in undamaged people (and we may presume animals), as well as autistic bearers, etc. How do we explain this degree of variation in two brothers that have the same genetic pool? Do we all have a sufficient substratum in our brains to calculate mathematical complexities without the need to spend years learning about mathematics?? I'm sure you know where I'm going with this. If the Universe is intelligent, Lawful, designed (or designing), and mathematically structured...then recognition of the essential fundamentals by various of the hands of God, as it were, makes sense (to me). If we argue that music, and other awe-inspiring talents, are mathematical in nature...this causes one to wonder... Is the Universe a big abacus!
