Which brings about the idea of the opposable thumb. Dolphins are intelligent, and they don't have an opposable thumb. In the universe of the sea, I suppose such a device would probably be a hindrance...

The point is that consciousness exists in many (if not all) forms and structures. Consciousness is so much more fundamental than our silly conceits. Why can't we encounter, and integrate, this simplicity?
