It was in a news article about six months ago. I don't remember the link. BTW, the link that you provided clearly demonstrates that if you buy a boxed Pentium or Pentium Pro, they come with a three year guarantee. That says nothing about a CPU in a machine you bought from an OEM. It also says nothing about the Pentium II, Pentium III, or any of the Xeon chips.

Hey, I read about this six months ago. It is quite possible my memory is wrong and I'm mistaken. But your link does not seem to me to contradict a single thing I said.

I just spent 20 minutes looking through Intel's site trying to find warranty information. The one thing that is pretty easy to conclude is that Intel certainly is not bragging about their processor warranties! Trying to find up to date information on this on the Intel site seems difficult.
