I disagree, Yields. People are finally asking 'Auric' to stand and deliver. People want 'Auric' to post his short list, or at least a short candidate, backed up with facts and logic. This would allow others to examine and discuss his picks.

Let me guess: If one of the followers of Auric were asked, "Why doesn't Auric post his short list?" the answer would be, "Because he doesn't have to!" That's true as far as it goes. But the real answer is "Because he's afraid to." That would make him accountable. The results would ultimately prove less than stellar, making his empty boasts sound hollower still.

It's interesting that, on a 'short list' thread, none of the regulars want to discuss Auric's short list. I suppose they are true believers. But other visitors to this thread, many of whom were brought here by Auric's mean-spirited posts elsewhere, aren't yet true believers and therefore quite reasonably want to see his short list. How would you have us measure him? By his silly boasts? By the number of true believers who rush to defend him? Or by his own stock picking record?

Keep in mind that the quality of the WSTL, EXDS, and CYBR threads went down when Auric invaded them with his empty boasts, vulgarity, personal attacks, and gross misinformation. You may disagree with that, but it's a matter of perspective: many of the regulars on those threads would agree wholeheartedly.

Rather than defending someone who is in an indefensible position, why not simply PM him and ask him to clean up his act? Urge him to post his short list and let his record stand on the quality of that list, and persuade him to adopt a more civil tone when posting to other threads. That's the quickest, surest way to improve the discussion on this and the other threads he posts to.

The trouble with Auric's thread is...Auric.

Regards,

DWCraig
