ot> Volt re water bans/drought:
LOL ... it's hotter than 3 to 3.5 'hells' here, I suppose, relative to the two you Atlantans are experiencing <g>
We are able to 'get around' watering bans (although this is first time in 15 years that City of Austin is again on "VOLUNTARY" watering 'restrictions." Means can water with sprinkling systems/devices once every five days.
Do you have the "hand-held hose" loophole in your 'watering ban?'
Even when the restrictions become "MANDATORY" here, watering with the ubiquitious "hand-held-hose" <g> is still allowed.
Costs an effing arm and leg (water), but when it's a question of saving the landscape, we do what's required.
With your money, why do you worry in the first place?
You can replace all turf, etc with a fraction of one month's CC write, yes?
If you have the 'hand-held-hose' option, if I were you, I'd water the landscaping only. It's a nice break, after all, from the stress of investing. I've always had some of my best creative ideas for work/writing standing mindless with a hose in my hand <LOL> ... a hose that is usually GREEN and PLASTIC, BTW ... as opposed to any other interpretations of the word, "hose." <g>
If Roswell will let ya get by with it, I'd keep the shrubs/ etc alive with the hand-held-hose method.
