New DSPs made of simple Asic and Risc core may yet propel SEMI to an even larger company. It bears watching of many technological advancement and the growth of semiconductor industry as time goes by. Distribution is still the life of the growing industry.

Recent scare of the shortage in computer parts, Compaq had to re-buy many parts(double ordering). It happened because the distribution tried to use the parts manufacturers for direct sales. This restricted inventory building in slow periods. Manufacturing capacity has been fixed, any new business created does not have just in time stock available. OEMs got squeezed.

I am happy that SEMI continued to cover the increasing demand with inventory build up. Solid distribution operation is still the good old fashioned getting the market share and filling the orders.
