I'll trade you stories Paul.
I know the location two diatremes in S.E. B.C. not too far off the Rocky Mountain Trench. You can drive right to them with a 4x4. I was using a scillometer and both diatremes are slightly radioactive. Both are carbonatites, fizz with acid. Not every day that you see a rock that has flow lines in it that reacts with acid. Both have fluorite but no garnets. Sigh. I also traced a dike from one by following the scillometer readings.

There is nothing else like them in the area, which is otherwise sedimentary rock. I suspect that there are more of them in the area. Last time I was up there I saw the biggest grizzly I have seen in some years. Maybe bears are an indicator animal for diamonds. I think I will go up there tomorrow with some sardines and see what happens.

By the way, in my experience when the camp cook begins to look beautiful it is time ot go into town.
