That's a typical warranty for OEM processors from both vendors when the processors are sold bare. OEM processors are often sold with short warranties, from both Intel and AMD. I know that my VAR offers 1 year warranty on OEM Athlons and 3 year on boxed Athlons, I think the same is available for P3: Just as I said, retail boxed processors have a 3 year warranty, OEM has at least 30 days.
