hi donnacat

good questions.

actually, i see that 4.75 is now available, so it looks like we've at least addressed what to do about 4.74! <g3>

i don't have any specific knowledge as to what upgrades are contained in either .74 or .75, except that the latter has been promised as the java security hole patch. and although from time to time i have stumbled across a page that describes the new version changes, i can't seem to put my hands on it for you today. you can poke around as well as i can, i know that.

my personal feeling about upgrading tends to change. often i am reluctant to move to a newer version if everything is super fine with the existing one. then sometimes i just migrate to the new on a whim. knowing specifics about the next version is very helpful. i recommend that you visit netscape newsgroups... i am certain that they are covering this topic thoroughly

someone (you?) also recently asked about the 128-bit encryption and its advantages. i have been running the strong encryption browser for a long time. as to why, i suppose one could just as effectively turn the question around and ask, why not? it can't hurt and it certainly is better for security purposes as you traverse the world wide web.

i'll probably look into the 4.75 offering a bit more (now that you've sparked my interest <g>), and anything i find i'll post here.

don't know if any of this rambling has helped...

:)
