To Thread,

Does anyone know the subject of Monday's CNBC interview with AMD. I was watching Bartoromo's (sp?) market rap on Friday evening and noticed that AMD was scheduled to present on Monday. Since I also had kid duty, I was not able to hear the subject of the interview.

A few thoughts on Sanders' ON 24 interview which I listened to for the second time. Regarding "volume is our vaccine....."

1) In support of a soon to be launch of 1.2 Ghz: Jerry noted that: "Dresden was the source of all 1.1 Ghz AND faster processors", inferring that 1.2 Ghz already in significant production.

2) Seems that with recent price cuts and volume shipments of 1 Ghz and faster Athlons in conjunction with Dell's recent stock price performance, AMD may well force Dell's hand into adopting Athlon solutions--i.e., volume is our vaccine. Also, headroom in price cuts seems highly supportive of a 1.2 Ghz launch in the near future. These price cuts make even more sense if AMD processors are sold out or near sold out for the current quarter.

Wishful thinking/idle speculation:

Jerry noted that OEM's with 1.1 Ghz systems on 8/28 were "top ten" manufacturers and that there would be "more as the year unfolds". Dell???

Thoughts?,

Jim
