A passing note on this bank, when I recently investigated the banks on the net.

Banks on the net have free bill payment features. This is great, saving postage and making life simple. Book keeping on the net is pretty good and fast for your account. Compubank has free wire transfer money out, while Netbank requires a $10 fee. Both have promotions giving you money($20-50) to initiate an account. Deposit seems easy with both mail in deposit as well as direct deposit options. The services will expand to brokerages, and other non-bank bank activities.

So what will community banks offer to compete with commercial regional banks and banks on the net? Real estate loans and commercial loans will accompany less fee charged. But the banks on the net are so easy to use that everyone will be a net bank. Fleet and Sovereign banks I use, all have net links, although they do charge more fees, keeping track of my account couldn't be easier.

MetroWest bank also has net link. Hopefully, this bank will compete aggressively as it grows. Once on the net, is there any difference between community, regional and national banks?
