The scientific evidence points to the fact that mental and emotional illnesses are problems with the brain. Having a mental illness is unrelated to how the world treats you. Ignore the science if you want, but it helps no one.

For someone who doesn't want to be controlled by drugs you seem to have a moderately stocked drug cabinet. Herbal remedies are drugs, too. But self-medication can be dangerous.
